| Description |
A fine example of a Mariner 36, 'Prelude' was custom-built for the current (original!) owner by the Mariner Yacht Company, and has a number of features not found on her other sisterships (see full specifications). Mariners are known for excellent cruising characteristics, good speed, sound design and solidly built too! Upon completion in 1979, 'Prelude' and her owners subsequently sailed across the Atlantic to Europe, but the Cold War prevented travel to many of the countries they had hoped to see, so they sailed her back via the Mediterranean to the Caribbean for an extended stay. Once the Cold War ended, it was back across the Atlantic to Europe, and since then, all over the North Sea and Baltic too, finally ending up in Denmark. Seems to me that this is a better advertisement for 'Prelude's' seaworthiness than anything I, or any other broker might come up with! 'Prelude' is still American-owned and registered, and so would be best suited for an American looking for a lovely cruiser in Europe, without paying European prices!. 'Prelude' is currently out of the water and under Winter wraps in inside storage, but we expect a lot more photos in the next couple months and in the meantime, welcome aboard 'Prelude!'
