Accommodations
Center cockpit layout with interior heavily trimmed in Santos mahogany with a teak and cherry cabin sole. Three primary cabins, with a large athwartships double berth in the forward cabin (particularly useful when sleeping at sea), main cabin/saloon with single berths port and starboard, and an aft cabin with a further single berth, plus navstation/chart-table. Lots of storage in drawers, hanging lockers, cabinets and bookshelves. Head with sink and manual shower and sump pump-out on portside just aft of the forward cabin. Lots of opening bronze portlights and opening hatches on the foredeck and coachroof mean good air circulation and ventilation make 'Fandango' very comfortable in the tropics! The saloon features a splendid mahogany dropleaf table for dining, plus a diesel-fired heating stove if you plan on voyaging to colder climes.

Galley
Located on the portside at the foot of the main companionway, the galley is equipped with a 3-burner Force 10 gimballed propane stove with oven, SS sink with hot and cold pressurized water system with ample lockers at eye level and below the sink console, and lots of counter space. The very efficient top-loading Frigoboat fridge and freezer is cleverly concealed within the saloon table (see saloon photos).

Electronics
Cockpit-mounted Navman Tracker 5600 combination GPS chartplotter (takes C-map, depth, speed and wind instruments with wind repeater in galley. Garmin 182C GPS chartplotter with Blue Chip navigation in aft cabin (navstation, chart table), Furuno Radar, Horizon VHF radio, Kenwood TS50 with antenna tuner and Pactor II for Ham, SSB, and email via radio, HD flatscreen TV, DVD, stereo with deck and cabin speakers, Sirius radio. TP 32 mounted on the rudder, which drives the trimtab directly. New autohelm (2007)

Planks have been reefed with traditional caulking replaced with epoxy to a depth of 1" (solid hull now). Ballast keel (11,000 Lbs)through-bolted lead with stainless steel keel bolts. Hull has had four coats of Emron white in 2006/7 and is in excellent condition. All brightwork is in excellent condition as well. Deck is of 3/4" plywood sheathed in fiberglass. Bowsprit of teak and SS steel, with pulpit in SS steel. Rudder of mahogany with SS steel trim tab. Three-blade bronze propeller with spare. Center cockpit design with butterfly hatch on coachroof, opening hatch on foredeck, plus two additional opening hatches on coachroof. HISTORY: It is believed that 'Fandango' was originally commissioned by an American working for the UN in the early '60's. The original name was 'Patricia III.' While this boat is certainly in keeping with other Aage Nielsen designs, we have not been able to confirm her lineage, and it is possible this was produced by one of his proteges. Built by the Chantiers DeBorde Frers in France (Soujon, Brittany), this vessel was sailed initially to Africa and then at some stage through the Panama Canal to the West Coast of America. Subsequently bought by a California wooden boat builder around 1991, this vessel was extensively rebuilt over a period of about ten years, during which time the original Rescorcinol glueing of the planks to the frames was reinforced with new copper rivets, reglueing (epoxy), as well as much additional internal re-building. The current (Canadian) owners bought her after re-building, and have significantly updated the electronics suite in preparation for long-distance voyaging in the Pacific. The current owners have sailed 'Fandango' some 1400 miles from Los Angeles, California to Puerta Vallarta, Mexico without problems (handled beautifully!). Unfortunately, health reasons have forced the current sale, and the lucky buyer will have a truly classic yacht built and equipped to the highest standards.
