| Description |
'Solveig' is a classic design from the pen of the old master himself, John G. Alden. Originally named 'Marianette II,' this was a 'one off' custom design (Alden design #399) for Roger D. Hale that was built by Harvey F. Gamage up in South Bristol, Maine in 1929. The boat was sailed under her original name by Mr. Hale for many years, before coming into the present ownership which has lasted for over 40 years. The boat has been out of the water and covered for the past ten years, which means there is some work to be done before 'Solveig' can sail again. But make no mistake, 'Solveig' is in no way 'a dead boat,' but she does need a new loving owner that can take the time and care to get her cleaned up and made seaworthy once again, and this is reflected in the asking price. Please have a look at the specifications and photos for more information, and you just might realise what a hidden treasure 'Solveig' really is!
